subwoofer enclosure help???
nim81, don't your subs have excursion beyond the bars? I mean, won't your subs hit the bars on bass notes?? They look awefully close for the amount of excursion those subs have!!! My Infinity's needed 1" for excursion. i put my bars at 1.25" away from the subs.
Here's my box

I didn't lift my seat at all. i am running 12" Infinity Kappa Perfects. i built my own box because most pre-fabbed boxes don't allow larger magnet subs. Which is the prob. your experiencing right now. Could you put O-rings under your subs to raise them a little? Do you have enough room to raise the subs 1" and clear the bottom of your seats? I doubt you need much more than that really, unless your magnets are ginormous?

heres a question ill throw into this mix, right now im runnin kicker comp c10s two of them, not really happy with the sound. i want to replace them with a better all around sub. i know there is not too much airspace in my foxacoustic box but i know there is somethin better out there. i went to the car audio place that installed and asked for somethin better no matter what it cost and the dude say that was pretty much the best he could do? any thoughts?
IDK bro, it may be your configuration and setup. Like Ive said before, Ive got a foxbox and 2 Kicker DVC CVR 12s with a 1600w amp behind them and they rock hard. Click on my sig and you will see
my bars are farther awat from the subs than they look, i haven't had them hit yet. i do need some better subs, these audiobahns sound "O-K" but dont move as much as you think they would. i will be looking at Memphis Audio at which point the bars will need either tweaked or changed all together . maybe something like you've got there, pretty fancy......
Ive got the same audiobahns you do, by the looks at least. Mine don't have too much of an excursion either. I am waiting STILL on my HU to come back in, running the stock stereo in the time being.
I had to raise my seat 1 1/2". Believe it or not, I had to reflip the "backseat fold down mod" and they still fold down because the seats are so high. Im thinking about getting some w3's from JL
By the way Dog, since you are the Guru of everything, someone cut my remote cord for my amp bass boost. The head is about half as big as a normal phone plug. Any idea on how to fix it?

ok i think i found the subs i want and that would work in my foxbox. They are the rf p3sd410s, shallow mount sub that spec sheet says it needs less airspace and uses more power than my kicker c10s. Yeah the cvr's are more up on the food chain when it comes to kicker subs. I believe my c10s are on the bottom
. Anybody have any experience with the rocksfordfosgate p3sd10?

3 8s have the same surface area as 2 12s and they can move much much quicker and if you get the right ones then they will move in and out (x-max) much more! but thats just my preference. but if you want 12s....get Memphis or MTX thunder shallow subs for the truck under seat boxes.
