Default subwoofer enclosure help???

i have a 02 ram 1500 quad cab. i just ordered two alpine 12" type r's and the standard sub box diagram that fits under the seat wont fit my subs in the chambers. i used to have two audiobahns and they fit good. The magnet and casing on the new type r's bump against the walls inside the box. Does anybody have a custom diagram they could hook me up with? or some kind of advice? I just got the speakers brand new through the insurance company so its gonna be kinda complicated to switch them out for some subs that will fit.

What do you mean sub box diagram? I think you might have some verbage mixed up. Most people (inluding myself) are running foxboxes unless the fiberglassed thier own. Do you know what the top mount depth is on your subs and magnet diameter? If not post your subs model numbers so we can look it up. And what box do you have?

9 1/2'' on what? The top mount depth? And we still need to know what box he has.

I would suggest to fiberglass your own. You may have to raise the rear seat a bit too for the extra clearance. There won't be much airspace for those 12's though.

Hey, I just left WPB and was all over Delray and Boca. Glassing is a lot of work and not the easist to do for someone who hasnt done it before. But thats me assuming he hasnt. But going in either direction, 9 1/2'' either in top mount depth or magnet diameter is huge and IMO too big to go under the read seats to begin with. My kickers are just under 6 1/2 mounting and with the foxbox you already have to raise the seats to get it to fit.

Oh yea I was looking at boxes like that on ebay most boxes that I looked at don't give more than 8 inches of mounting depth and about .69 of airspace. I would suggest the JL TW5 series subs that just came out. All the need is 2.5 inches of mounting depth and .63 of airspace which is great for most of the Ram QC boxes. They RMS at about 500watts with a max of about 1000.

Or you can do like some others and including myself and get a FoxBox with two Kickers 10s or 12s (I have 12s). I love mine and they sound really good and hit hard. I can shake all my mirrors pretty hard.

I built a custom center console box and was able to keep the seat 100% functional. It has an 8" infinity sub with fosgate 300s bridged and it hits harder and sounds much better than the two custom boxes to go under back seat for 10" and 12".
