I know magna has better HP gains, but is it noticeable? I like the sound of the flowmaster and have had one in the past, but it's hard to compair them by watching youtube videos.
Well i just put a FM 40 in my truck. I think my ear drums are going to pop. Damn, parts guy lied to me. I want a nice rumble, not wake up the entire state with my truck. I am muffler shopping again now, and idk what to buy either.
I think a lot of guys on the forum have come up with the best option for exhaust, and I wish I had listened the first time around. Run an electric exhaust cutout. This gives you the option to have the loudest truck around town at any time. Then when you want a little break from the loud noise when your towing or going on long trips with lots of passengers who don't care for jet plane exhaust, hit the switch back to stock and have it silent in the cab like the day you took it off the lot. Personally, I'm replacing my Flowmaster 50 HD muffler with my stock muffler, and connecting it into my existing dual exiting tailpipes, so I'll still have the look of dual exhaust. Something to think about. The cutouts the guys here buy are from DMH.
I have Magnaflow dual side exit. Nice mellow rumble that's not over bearing and doesn't scream at you when you hit the gas. Zero in cab resonance and I have the dual side exit. Not one persoan has said they didn't like the tone.
I plan on getting the cutouts, but think it would be bad to put it in later? Just have to cut a small peice of pipe out and put it in. But I really can't wait to get the cutout in there and try it.
Well i did it, ordred up a super 44 single in dual out and a cutout. If I don't like the muffler I can just get something different, luckly those are cheap. But I may have to go with something quite, I like to camp a lot and I don't think people will be happy if I come driving in at 11 at night with a super loud exhaust.
I don't know, I just think it's silly having a loud muffler WITH a cutout. The point of a cutout is to have it loud at the flip of a switch, but then go back to stealth with another flip. Having a loud exhaust with the cutout, in my opinion, devalues the coolness of the cutout.
