Painting Calipers
Would it look silly if I painted the front and rear calipers on my truck red? I was just thinking it might add a real performance looking touch to the truck once I have the tail lights and headlights smoked out. Just an idea, wasn't sure if that would look stupid though..
All right, looks like you have a black truck. IMO I would do a dark red color. Not the bright *** duplicolor...
Here's what I did on my solstice and Trans Am. I'm going with body color on my Dodge though.

No, calipers do not get that hot. But you do have to keep them clean once in a while. Brake dust kills paint. We just use regular Napa paint though out of a spray gun. Most use just whatever color they like at the parts store though in a spray can.
i painted mine red to match the truck and looks reall good with the black chrome rims ...look in my pics to see im to lazzy to go get it

If your gonna do it, then do it right. they make caliper paint kits for doing just that. or you can get Caliper spray and cheap out. the paint kit uses a brush so it glazes on thick and has a ceramic base in it so grease and brake dust wipe right off.
Go and stick your finger on a Caliper after you've done some driving and you tell me if you don't melt the tip of your finger off!
Caliper paint is high temp. They do get very hot. Regular spray will chip and bubble in no time.
Prep the surface right and you'll never have to do it again.

I agree, I wouldn't ever cheap out on something. I'm very ocd and need everything to look just right. I'm surprised everyone likes the idea, I was expecting more opposition. But I just think it would look really neat. I don't see anybody around my area with a dodge like mine, let alone any trucks with painted calipers.
