you're from Seattle, Washington (BABY!!)... i would have thought you'd have a better idea on canadian currency being that close to Canadia. $5000 Canadian is $4500 USD
ya about that. I figured it all out and he is charging me about 1500 bucks for the machining of the heads and all his man hours and shop supplies, so if it ends up being 5000 ill be happy
well went and paid my bill at the machine shop...... came out to 6 grand. Charged me 1200 bucks labour, 4500 bucks in parts, and 600 bucks of tax's guy took 5 months to do it but all in all i think it was a decent deal. He did everything new pretty much, here is a list of the things,
- short block engine
- oil pump
- timing set
- all new bolts
- crank shaft
- both rocker shafts
- lifters
- pushrods
- all new valves
- valve springs
- retainers
surfaced the heads, and polished the ports.
I think the engine will roar now. Just like new... actually better then new!
connecting rod seized to the piston, snapped the piston off, piston fell into the crank and ya.... leave the remaining info up to your imagination haha

Yikes! Sounds like a domino effect. least ya didn't purposefully do this, like I have known someone once close to me blew 3 heads in his 1st car, blew the 3 rods in the Jeep, and then finally nearly dropped the engine, it was smoking when he drove onto the lot that he got his other car from, which he no longer has, and has had at least 3 cars since that last known blowout 2 years ago...
They are NEVER cheap, but yeah, thats odd its taking so long, sheesh...
woops i didnt mean 5 months haha i woulda shot the guy, no it was 5 weeks. I toyed with the idea of dropping a used engine in.... but u never know how that one was treated, this way i know the thing is brand new.
