I try not to keep anything of value in my truck... I have been robbed out of every other vehicle I've owned except my Ram so far. Actually since the last time my truck was broken into (00 GMC Sierra) I have not locked the doors on my vehicle... What's the point? Locks are for honest people, and if someone wants what's in your car/truck, they're going to take it.

A loud alarm system doesn't help. I had one on my Sierra, it went off the last time I was broken into, had the two-way pager that notified me my alarm was going off, but by the time I had gotten out to the parking lot, the SOB's were gone, with my head unit and radar detector. Nobody even paid any attention to the alarm blaring and no witnesses...

Thats the only downside about alarms these days, no one cares when they go off.

Maybe I should just wait at night with a shotgun for someone to try and break into it again..this is Texas after all im sure it would fly. But really every time it's been broken into has been at my house and I could be out to my truck in under 20 seconds if I ever heard the damn thing go off.

I got a Telematics service free with my alarm. I can call from my cell phone to an 800 number and unlock/lock or start my truck from anywhere in the U.S. Pretty handy when you lock your keys in your car! I've used it already.Twice...lol
I have the 2-way paging remote as well as a normal remote. I chose to go with AutoAlarm Pro because they Pre-wired everything and programmed the unit so I didn't have to. They wire in all the needed resistors, program the module for specific vehicle and the directions were outstanding. I installed my alarm within 3hours hiding all the wires and tying them up nice. i have remote start..etc.. I have 1mile True range. I can start my truck from the corner gas station on the main road which is 7 blocks away!!!
The owner was telling me how the Code Alarm bypass is much easier and less involved than most other one's.
I tapped into a total of like 10 wires and that's it. i had to pull my lower steering console off and that was it. The bypass is keyless which was a bonus as well.

Let me just start out by saying this much. There are a lot of freakin wires with the nicer units. If you aren't electrically inclined at all, go with the made to order vehicle specific sets which AoutAlarmPro custom makes. they are about $40-50 higher than other places, but their service is well worth it. They returned my phone call both times i had antenna issue's and sent me new on'es out ASAP. The owner was down to earth and seemed like a good guy. They have a 7-10 business day turn around from the time you order until the time it ships. They make each alarm tailored specifically to your vehicle. I suppose the newer one to mine is the Extreme X11 2nd one down the page http://www.autoalarmpro.com/2_way_starter_w_alarm

Just checked my emails from when i bought it and the owner (Derek) gave me a coupon to save 5% on any and all orders. He said to pass the coupon code around. So here ya go. 5% savings
PS: For any further purchases, please use coupon code: save5 (no spaces) in the coupon code box during check-out and received 5% of your entire order (Lifetime coupon). You can give this code to anyone you know also.

I would buy one here to keep in home but I'm sure the parents would be THRILLED that I bought one.

Bro alarms don't work if they want it they get it...my **** got broken into about 2 years and the same thing...they stole my Kenwood, I pod 60GB and the ipod interface.....
if you really want them hold off get some train horns that activate with your alarm....

they may still try to break in but as soon as they hear that train horns I think they'll **** their pants right on the spot then run like hell!

perfect effin situation for train horns....no one pays attention to alarms but they will look with train horns are blaring and they will watch people running from your truck
