Once people start to get these computer controls figured out we should see some great numbers from blown Hemi trucks. Right now even a blown Hemi truck will have a difficult time running with even a stock 2nd gen Lightning. The potential is there for these trucks, especially the 4wd trucks on the street, but noone really has a handle on tuning to the fullest potential and eliminating the torque management on hard launches to get all of the power to the ground...Along with what seems to be a lazy trans control system that just keeps these trucks the underdog it seems. Just as when I first bought my lightning, I saw the potential in that truck as I do in this one. It's just a matter of time...

Man I watched the video and that hurt my feelings...I think it was staged though unless the lightning was running in the 10's?

Here's a video of a 12.5 lightning run. The mods on this truck are power pulley, PSP chip and exhaust (not nearly 100 hp worth). The SRT 10 he beat consistantly runs mid 13s.

ok lets look at it like this the Ford lightning is Fords fastest most power truck the dodge hemi is not. lets compare apples to apples. dodge top of the line (SRT-10) to ford (lightning) top of the line or ford middle of the road (5.4L Triton® SOHC 24-valve V8) to dodge's middel of the road (5.7-liter HEMI Magnum® V8) then we can see who is better.

Look at it this way.. if his crappy tiny ford lighting does beat you in a race then at least you can fit his whole P.O.S truck and all his dumb *** friends in your monster and drive them home when his blower eliminates his engine.. You have a mans truck.. take pride in that...

If you really want to compare equals you also have to look at price. The lightnings sold for $10K less than the SRT-10. So to be equal you would have to spend and extra $10K on the lightning, so Ford wins there.
The 1/2 ton trucks sell for comparable prices, the Fords I priced were about $2000 more than the Dodges. The Dodge already is faster than the Ford in this category. I would have to say that the Ford feels like a much tighter truck.
3/4 and 1 ton trucks there is no substitute for the Ford Superduty. We had a snow storm about a month ago. I noticed that there were no Dodges plowing, a couple Chevys and 98% of the trucks out were Superdutys. That definitely means something. I used to drive a plow truck for a friend, those guys don't mess around. Time is money.
