I agree with the ram stock housing being pretty darn good. (At least the 06 that I have). My wifes G6 has projector fogs and I aimed her lights and my ram lights and both had about the same "cut-off" Hers was a little sharper, but not much. I ordered the 5000k HIDs for my fogs and hope that I don't blind people. I would bet that if you put the HID's in a stock ram headlight and kept them aimed low enough that they would not be much different than in projectors. Obviously the projectors are better, but I think the stock housings can be good enough with proper aiming....

They're the Anzo projector headlights.

But you would need to get new HID's ($170 from Twiggy), they use H3 bulbs for the low beam.

Look at the last post! Otherwise any PROJECTOR headlight is the best.

HIDs in stock housing are NOT illegal and just because they are more bright than halogens doesnt make then illegal either. The only way you get a ticket is if they are not properly adjusted. Come on guys, weve been down this road several times before. We have had guys in here on the board who are law enforcement speak up and say the same and even post links. IDK what kind of bulbs you have, if they are not adjusted correctly they will blind you and we all know this.

Hell Ive got HIDs in my headlights AND fogs and burn them both where ever I go AND my truck is lifted and Ive only been flash ONCE and that was from a dropped caddy. Ive passed my IDK how many cops and never had any issues.

However, last week on one of the main roads they were targeting lifted trucks with lights not aimed right. I passed through just fine because my headlights beam is focused about 30ft on the road in front of me and not in the trees.

Every state has their own unique laws about headlight usage and light output. I just make sure that if it's gonna be bright, it better be pointed on the road and not at the sky. My friend has this problem, he has 12,000k HID's and they are pointed everywhere. I have to roll up my window when he is driving behind me in order to keep the light from blinding me since I have a low % tint it helps stop the light from going into my eyes. I can only imaginine what it's like for oncoming traffic. He'll get stopped eventually and get a citation if he doesn't do anything about it.

IMO, you can have stock housing or projector housing with HID's. The light output will be bright either way which my concern is whether or not you have those bulbs aimed at the road.

I really don't understand why everyone here is proud of blinding on coming traffic and doing things half assed. It throws you right into the crowd of ricers everyone here bashes. Just because someone doesn't flash you, doesn't mean you're not blinding them. Unless they're aimed directly at the ground, they're blinding.

It is not only illegal in literally every state, but totally defeats the purpose of HID's.

To those of you who do have projector housings, thank you for thinking beyond "omfg d00d look how brutal mah headlights are!!!!!11"

Cops around here finally got fed up with the crap and started writing tickets for HID's in non-projector housings.
LOL really I seem to remember your rant about stock lights and HIDs last time it was brought up.. Do you think it worked?
