Default Another DIY Cold Air Intake

Alright, I'm sure you have all seen plenty, but I am done with mine and felt like sharing so

And Now:

Painted a dark silver with a grit to it. Feels kinda like rough sand paper.

Now for those of you who are in the know. Maybe you can help lay my mind to rest. There was no air sensor. Can anyone verify whether or not the 02 model had one or not?

Thanks.

3" ABS with the long size 90 degree bends to give it more gradual turns and a 3" rubber ABS coupling to connect.

Just put some bends in some metal to hold the end by the filter and bolted to the frame where the old air box frame was bolted.

It is rock steady, and despite what a couple angles in the photos show, it is not sitting on any of the piping or anything else.

He said he couldn't find the IAT. Spokane_Dodge check the back of the resonator that says "4.7 magnum" on it the IAT is in there I think, you just have to twist and then pull it out.

I have a 2002 4.7 as well...there is only a hose goin from the back side of the "resonator" to somewhere behind the throttle body. What did you do with that hose spokane dodge? Sweet DIY by the way, im gonna do pretty much the exact same set up pretty soon here hahah

oops nevermind haha i see you just stuck a small filter on it. Im wondering though, it is the hose for the intake air temp probe is it not? so shouldnt it be IN the intake?

If the sensor is in that hose then yes. And if I can get verification from anyone it is in there than I will most definitly install it into the intake. Was just so much easier to pop a little filter on it at the time

As far as I can tell and find elsewhere, the 02 is the only 3rd gen ram that doesn't have the sensor wired directly to the resonator though. Whether it is hiding elsewhere or not I haven't found out yet.
