THere is no other than dealership that have program keys for your trucks and well as other cars. I think. Hell my dads key is worth way more than that. It cost like 300 dollars plus just for a key.

For example, my friend has this keys for his 08 honda civic and it is not replacable unless the new keys is programmed into the honda's code or something.

I just find few dodge or jeep dealerships around and ask them. get with cheapest one they offer you.

Just called the stealership and he told me $205 plus tax for the key and the flashing, and I have to have it towed to them!

I hate my truck!

I think you are just going to have to bite the bullet on this one and take the hit for the key. I've never really been a fan of the chipped keys and am glad I dont have one, specially since I know how often my keys get dropped.

Is it possible that something inside is stuck like one of the buttons? I would take it apart again and try it, maybe remove the battery and try it.

wtf you dont need a flashing. Plain waste of time. You, I mean YOU can do it yourself to program the keys and have it sync into your truck ecu.

Where would I find the instructions to do that? I found a key on ebay uncut and unprogramed for $129

Your basic truck is ok; we can all thank the insurance companies and government regulations for making them more costly and difficult to repair. ...and the sad part is that the thieves and 'still' 'steal' your truck in-a-heartbeat!

Good Luck with a reasonable repair and please inform us of your solution.

Why is the key not covered under warranty? I would just tell them it stopped working. Don't say you dropped it. They should cover it under warranty if it needs to be reprogrammed. Just because it's not bolted to the turck doesn't mean it shouldn't be covered!!!!
