Not true. You need 2 already programmed keys to program a 3rd key in the newer Sentry key models. If you have only one key or none at all, Dealer is only viable solution, but read my post above^^^!

Well atleast i did this process on different brand of car. Every brand is different.

oh i didnt think of the warrenty as dirty dog pointed out.

I would give a warrenty a try.

glad i don't have any electronic bull**** in my truck. i drop, soak, smash and freeze my keys on a regular basis. good luck man.

You can get keys w/just the chip inside and not the whole bulky fobb/key combo. i got one when I installed my Alarm as I have a 2-way remote. I just ordered up a key off Ebay and had it cut for a buck at the local hardware store. Then i programmed it myself since I had 2 originals. when does your wife get back? If its not too long and you won't need it for anything major MAYBE you can wait it out...I wouldn't be able to though
