Just did my 02 Dodge's CAI last weekend. I had the same question, it is probably on page 2 or 3 now. The 02 is different than the later year 3rd gen Rams. The only thing that connects into the "Magnum" box on top is an off shoot air hose that connects to the engine oil tank.

No idea where the IAT is if it has one...

Either run the oil tank hose into your CAI or just pop a small filter right onto the hose where it is at (the latter is what I did after seeing it done by another forum member).

Like stated above the iat sensor is located on the manifold. If you do move the iat sensor into the intake tube you are going to need a iat plug and you will need the extension wire or power wire that airram sells. You can also extend your own wires for the iat sensor with some soldering skills.

Will I be better off leaving it in stock location or moving it to the intake?

I doubt you would notice much although every bit helps.

I look at it like this. If Dodge themselves moved the iat sensor to be located in the oem intake for the 03 and up rams, then it must be good.

Mine currently is located in the manifold, but I will be relocating it since Im upgrading to a 08 manifold on my 02.

I felt like my truck revved up quicker w/ the e-fan, but the biggest reason to do it is mpg. I got 1.5 mpg out of my e-fan so that alone covers the cost.

They do help a little. To get an idea of the power gain you should remove your fan clutch and take the truck for a quick spin. Now of course you want to make sure your truck has been completely cooled down before you drive off without a fan clutch and keep your fan clutch with you just in case.
