Looking at getting into a Dodge....
I currently own a Jeep GC but would like a bit more room and more hauling/tow capabilities. I've found a few 06-07 1500 QC 4x4's, some are big horn, some are 4.7 and others are 5.7. The one I have my eye on is an 07 Grey Big Horn QC 4x4 but it has the 4.7. I know most people will say to get the HEMI but how underpowered is the 4.7? I know it's great in the WJ Jeep! The truck has like 22k miles and they want 20,000 for it. I'd be doing a Tuner/catback/CAI/leveling kit, etc. Also, I need to tow a 3500 race car on a open trailer. Would this 4.7 truck be enough for that? I could do a gear swap too. Thanks so much!
Well the Hemi one I'm looking at is 7,000 more but it has a leveling kit with pro comp wheels/tires. Will the 4.7L be able to tow a car on an open trailer fine?
EDIT- I just saw that the 07 4.7L only puts out 235HP, compared to 345 on the HEMI, I thought it was 310hp on the 4.7. I'm thinkin' the HEMI would be a much better choice, if only I can find the HEMI with all the options I want!!

But is the HEMI really worth the extra HP? I mean I'm not looking at racing the truck, but towing my race car
So I wonder if the gas mileage increase would be better, even if not much. I don't tow often and I just need a good daily driver, plus the bolt ons should wake it up?

The hemi will do better on gas if any at all cause the 4.7 has to pull the same weight with less power. And trust me, you will want more and more power later. Opinions are biased here though. That's only because dodge is the best! HAH!
