2006 Hemi Ram chip
Well, my 3815 has been updated and works great for what I need, and there are alot more used ones available through the classifieds.... But yes, if you are buying a NEW programmer than go for the 3865.
Your in a whole 'nother world now my friend. The tranmission Part throttle upshift is great. Can't wait until they have a part throttle upshift. That means you control when the trans shifts in every gear at whatever rpms you want based upon the gas pedal location.
the truck shifts like a million bucks compared to stock. Ughhh, I would have traded it in if i had to deal with the MDS forever. gas mileage stays the same and I have a 91oct tune.

So you can actualy program how the truck will upshift and downshift? That is one thing I have never liked about my Ram is the downshift. It seems like you have to hit the throttle just right to get it to downshift properly. Also, I frequently feel a bit of a clunk in the drivetrain when cruising between 40 and 50 which the Dodge service guy told me was the MDS going on and off. You're telling me that your mileage didn't change when you disabled the MDS???
Are these transmissions good for a few more HP than stock or do they need to be upgraded too?
I gotta tell you my fantasy about my truck. Ya'll will think I'm nuts but....
I would love to find like, an all aluminum 426 Hemi from back in the day and somehow fit it with the fuel injection and distributorless ignition and maybe even the MDS. Leave the engine basically stock except for nice free flowing headers and exhaust. Have a custom made "Hemi 7.0 Liter" emblem on the fender....and then see if anyone notices. I know, it would cost more to do than what I originaly paid for the truck probably, but that's why it's a fantasy.
Diablo has partial throttle upshift changes for all models except 04? and partial throttle downshifts only for 07? Not all that sure about the years, but mine as an '08 only can adjust upshifts. This controls how long you want the truck to be in a certain gears depending on the pedal position. great for towing i must say, big help going up hills.
Yes, same mileage with mds disabled, but that's with the 91oct tune so your gonna need to fork out a few extr peniies for 91 grade gas. You get more pep than stock too. Noticeable gain.
As far as your fantasy, the 6.1L Hemi can be stroked out to 6.9L (426) http://www.arringtonengines.com/p-11...ort-block.aspx and can produce almost 600hp N/A
You can bolt on eithe a Procharger for 100rwhp gain or a STS Turbo kit for almost 200hp gain.
Stock Ram transmission in the newer Rams is plenty strong enough to handle a solid 100rwhp gain. if you don't mess with the torque management which actually reduces power when shifting, thus a lag, you can slap on as much as you can afford realistically. the Ram transmission at a stage 3 revised form is one of the toughest tranny's out there.
Either the procharger kit or The STS turbo kit both run around $5,000 for your 2006. Boith can be done in your garage on your back.

The 09 Ram has the variable intake runner system as mentioned above, as well as variable cam timing which advances the cam timing at low rpm for more torque and retards it at higher rpm for more HP. Best of both worlds. They also have revised heads an higher compression as mentioned above.
I love my Predator. It downshifts like it should now without having to mash the gas. The latest Crom4 doesn't even let it go into 5th until 60mph or higher. Much better than the stock set-up!! You'll love the power and shifts from a Predator.
I have a K&N drop-in filter, Airaid MIT tube and Magnaflow cat-back. Very happy with these mods. Apparently, Dirtydog and myself think a lot alike. our mods are very similar except he still has the Hemi Hat and my exhaust exits out the rear
