I painted over my nasty wood grain as well

The center radio bezel is one piece, you have to tape off the vents and everything around it.

On the doors, you can drill the back side of the melted plastic pieces that form kind of a rivit type connection , then to re-install I used two screws to screw into the plastic post that sticks off the piece you painted......just pop off the door panel and you will see what I mean...

I think this is what you're looking for. To get at the 2 screws, you need to remove the entire center console. It's a PITA! But then leave the 2 screws out when putting it all back together so you don't have to remove the center console ever again.

The top of the console just pops straight up...it takes some grunt to get it off, the clips are pretty tight. Then there are 3 bolts securing the lower piece to the floor...remove those, then there is a piece that fits aroung the bottom of the dash, that too needs to be removed to get at these 2 screws.

Good luck

So on the door pieces you actually have to take the door panes off? Isn't that a big PITA for a guy like me with no automotive skills? The dash looks relatively simple, but the door pieces seem a little complicated.

The door panel is held on by 5 screws. There is 1 holding the door handle on (torq bit), 1 behind the door handle, 1 in the top left corner by the a pillar, and 2 on the very bottom. After that it just lifts off. I took mine off in under 1 min.

The inserts on the doors are actually fused though. To get them off you have to take something like a dremel and just cut the melted plastic till the pop off. They have post so you can use screws to put them back on.
