im alittle embarrassed to be asking this question but i was wondering how much of a shot of nitrous could you run safely on a 4.7L with H.O cams with no worries of the engine going boom.

im braced for the flaming.

 

I'm gonna say 75hp due to not having forged pistons and good rods.

 

Probably only a 75 shot on stock internals, 100 shot might be pushing it.

 

75 is safe on stock bottom ends, but you will need to run cooler plugs and, if you are running a tuner, go to the econo tune with premium fuel. The econo tune retards the timing and the premium fuel helps eliminate detonation, as will the cooler plugs

 

You might ask AIRRAM, he's pretty knowledgeable about 4.7Ls...

 

If you do you want to go direct port injection that goes directly under the fuel injectors. This helps equal the fuel distribution between the cylinders.. The problem with the 4.7L and spray is the intake design, as its a horizontal manifold . They have a tendancy to get fuel pooling/puddling and blow the intake usually resulting if a fire.
