Default Coming up on 30,000

I'm getting close to 30,000 miles and I know I'm supposed to be doing the 30,000 mile service. What exactly is involved in this? And is it something I can do myself or should I take it the dealer? At my dealership I noticed thay offered a 30,000 mile service but there was no price. What is a good price for this service? Thanks.

Just spend the day (or weekend) doing it your self or do the bulk of it yourself and take it in and get the rest done. Just be sure you tell them what you have done already or they will re do it and charge you for it...

I've heard of dealers quoting $700-$1,000 for "by the book" service. A lot of it is too easy to pay someone to do. The book says 30K for a plug change, but you can likely let that go for another 10K-20K. My Ram had 86K when I bought it. It got its first plug change then.

The tranny drop 'n' drain is messy, but easy to do. The rear diff is "cave man easy".

I think I would take it somewhere for the trans flush. everything else can be done in the comfort of your garage (or oven depending on what part of the country your in, my garage temp is 108* right now). The plugs need changed out so dont wait on them any longer than you have to.
