Hi everyone. My name is Chris. Just picked up this cool 04 Ram 1500 Hemi Sport. I want every part that can legally be black to be so. If anyone can help me out with ideas/where to buy stuff that would be great.

Plans:
Black Wheels - Can I powdercoat/Paint the ones I have without it looking bad. Eventually want 22" SRT-10 wheels.
Black Badges - Buy them or do it myself? Where to buy?
Black grille - Buy it or do it myself? Where to buy?
Black windows (well almost black)
Black headlights and taillights - Best ones to buy
Black fuel door - Are Ebay ones good? best place to buy?

All help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking!

 

Welcome to DF Radioactiv! I am gonna move this thread over to the 3rd Gen Ram Section. Those guys/gals should be able to help ya. I know for a fact there are a few Nightrunners (NRs) in the group who are just about blacked out Good luck and enjoy!

 

Hey man welcome to df!! nice ride.
1. if your rims are chrome clad then you cant powdercoat them but you can paint them.
2. Paint your badges. its very easy i painted mine silver to match

3. You can paint the grille too. look at pics from off road teacher. he has done the murdered out look
4. limo tint
5. you can paint them but they are a p.i.a. lol look at airram.com or ebay for the black headlights
6. paint or ebay would be the best bet on the fuel door.
if you get stuck just look at off road teachers ride and you can find all the parts that you need to black out lol

 

Murder out that truck! Nothing looks better than these trucks in all black.

 

I'm in the process of doing the same thing. The first thing that I did was that I debadged the truck. I think on a black truck, debadging is the way to go. Everyone knows it's a Dodge Ram so no need to advertise it. I just order some VHT Nite-Shades so I can tint my own tail lights and 3rd brake light. $40 to do all three. Better than spending over $200 to replace all three lights. As far as the headlights go that another story. I'm either going to try out the Lamin-X smoked covers ($51) or buy a smoked set of Ebay. The verdict is still out on what one I'm going to do. As for the wheels, I was going to get my Off-Road package wheels powercoated but for a $100 more I'm going to pick up a set of black Moto Metal 951s. Good luck.

Im thinking of getting all my stuff powdercoated in awhile...I don't want it to look gangster (no offense teacher, raider) so im kinda iffy...set up an appointment already so Im on the black side right now

well, the thing is, I am going to be out of school and in the hospital in about 1 1/2 years, so I will probably be getting a new truck then...

If I murder my truck , will anyone want to buy it? Will I be ruining re-sale if I do it?

 

You can almost always find someone to buy it. Just takes finding the right person, but it is that way with selling any vehicle. And if you can't find someone you can always sell the blacked out parts when the time comes and replace them with stockers.

 

Blacked out trucks are COOL!!!
