Yo!
Ok I am running the motor with the heater on to see if maybe there was air in the heating coil. We will know something in about 15 minutes.

I am going to test the cooling system by running to the local autoZone and buy a new radiator cap. HA! I am a firm believer in trying to do the cheap stuff first, then moving up the the expensive stuff.

If neither one of the solutions work today, I think I am going to pull the radiator and take it to the radiator shop to have them do a thorough reverse/acid/whatever flush. I hate to spend $300 on a new radiator if I am not even sure that is what is causing the problem.

AND ICE, I have not been driving it at all...only to see if the problem is solved...the only reasons I bought it is for the Dogs, and to pull my boat 100 yards to the hoist and back. Tell you what though, the chicks sure like the truck more than the 2 door...

Lets just hope that there was air in the system...I want my truck back.

Haha, I feel you man. I was just lookin out, cuz like I said I just got done going through a blown head gasket in my truck and ended up just selling it and buying the new one I have. I like my single cab though...Then the girls have to squeeze and right middle seat/sit on laps, nah mean?!

Actually, I was looking for a QC, but I came across this one and it was a hemi and a 4x4, which was exactly what I was looking for. I couldn't find a similar truck, for the price I was wanting to pay, that was QC.

CHAMBERS, the Problem Code= 0455...thanks for the tip on getting the code.

I took it around the neighborhood and it started to overheat...less than 2 miles and I was 3/4 on the gauge, and another 1/4 mile and I was about to hit the top. THIS SUX CAMEL *****!

It has gotten worst...when this first started, I was starting to overheat after 30 minutes of driving...after the thermostat change, radiator flush, another flush to get more of the gunk out, and now we are overheating in less than 5 minutes.

Couldn't even get to AutoZone for the new radiator cap! SUX CAMEL *****!!!

P0455 EVAP system leak monitor, large leak detected. I don't think that has anything to do w/ the overheating. Well I did a little searching and that code is often thrown for a bad gas cap or leaks in the lines that run to the EVAP canister. I think the overheating takes precedence over the CEL for now.

I just searched the Forum and 0455 can be caused by a faulty gas cap...I SWEAR IF I AM HAVING ALL THESE ISSUES DUE TO FAULTY GAS and RADIATOR CAPS, I am going postal...

Yea I just edited my post, LOL. Considering what came out of your radiator when you flushed it, the thing has probably never been serviced and it's recommended at something like 5 years/100k miles whichever comes first.

Well, like you said replacing the radiator cap is a cheap thing to try if you can find a way to get to the store.

Radiatorbarn.com...I just replaced mine with the same issues. I think I paid $145 or something like that and it fixed all of my problems.

Well, I siad I was leaning toward the fan clutch in my ride being faulty.... Once I realized the work was covered under my extended warranty, I decided to take it to the dealer. He just called and said they were going to change the water pump, and that the clutch seemed ok. SO... after all the posts I have read about this problem, and all the repairs that have been tried by other forum members, I feel I have been "asked onto the dance floor" (if you know what I mean). At least it's covered. I am still interested in how this thread turns out for the original thread starter "Roarky". Please let us/me know. And I will do the same.
