Mine doesnt go over 307 but Im sure thats only because my avg mpg is around 12. So if you take 12*26 you get about 312 and so thats how I think it gets it. But yes DTE does work as the tank gets empty.

well, 35 x 12 = 420.....So your DTE is still thinking it has a 26 gal tank, but the fuel gauge is reading the 35 gal tank if i recall? Is that correct?

I'm marking this thread so I can see the pics once I get home. While it would be a pain to fill up, you aren't paying for any more gas than you would if you had to fill up your tank for the same number of miles.

Now I just need to find a tank......

I'll definitely be doing this. This will help a lot when I drive the ALCAN - had enough of Alaska time to go back to GA!

I am doing some research on doing this and I have a couple questions;
1. The quad cab 6.3 bed came with optional 34 gal tank and the reg. cab 8' bed came with optional 35 gal tank. I have a quad 6.3 bed. Would either of these work?
2. I was reading in some other forums that the fuel pump is different for the 26 gal and 35 gal tank. Did you notice a difference?

Thanx for the quick response. I found both tanks, just want to get the right one for a plug n play. See if I can get some pics and match them up. Of course I want the 35 gal, but will settle for the 34 gal if the other requires mods. Like the PnP you did. Little hassle. Checking out your long tubes in your FYI too. Thanx. I'll let yall know how it goes.

I love my factory 35 gallon tank. Now that prices are low again it only costs me about $75ish to fill up compared to when the prices were high and it cost me about $120.

The extra distance between fill ups is nice. So far the best i've gotten was almost 600 miles to a full tank, but that was pure highway.
