painting wheels
ive read a couple threads on painting wheels, i noticed no one mentioned weather or not you have to sand the anozadation[sp] off stock alluminum rims, they are stock rim[17's] and thats alot cheaper than buying new ones, any thoughts would help, besides, the balck beast deserves the murderer row look,
alone from sanding to bare metal what were the other steps, ie... cleaner, addhesive promotor and base color and clear coat, how many coats color and how many cleaar, thanks for the info and reply Brian Lee

I am currently painting my rims as well.... Because the covers are chrome remember to use a bit harsher of a sandpaper... I used 180 with a power sander for all the large surface areas and hand did all the small areas like the outside edge when you finish sanding there should be no reflexion in ur rim whatso ever.... I used soap and water to clean it all off then air dried it with a compressor then wiped it down with acetone.... then I used a tack cloth on it.... but i overdue everything....
