IMO just because a certain set of tires happens to be OEM doesn't mean it is bad. A friend's Mercedes E-500 has (stock I believe) Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s which were just rated well by Car and Driver. When I had my Wrangler HP's on my truck they did just fine; even off-roading on wet granite and sand. Of course they do not compare to my current Wrangler Silent Armors, but they were still pretty good.
