Default My Murdermachine.

So I was removing the chrome accents the dealership stuck on my truck before I bought it and the fools put the fender flares on with tek screws

Now I have seven little holes on the lip of each fender that will rust up like nobody's business. Very annoyed. I was thinking that rather than bondo of fibreglass I might just stick some black weatherseal caulking in the holes. That should work yeah?

Also, my first and second mods are going to be a Taurus fan and new shock absorbers.

Any thoughts on what absorbers are best? I'm partial to bilstein but the KYB's seem popular and are significantly cheaper....

Tell me about it! I was nervous as could be when I started drilling the holes for my side blinkers...but they turned out good. I even mounted my mudflaps with the same screws the wheel well liners use because I didn't want any other holes.

Why not just put touch-up paint in the holes?

Why don't you find a set of flares you like? Some look really good?

****, I'm gonna go hide in a corner now. I somehow totally missed that. I thought it was another one of those weird posters who randomly puts things in other's threads.

Hey.. well I went back to the dealer and asked them on what planet it's okay to drive tech screws into the fender lip of a truck. Pointing out that the holes were already bright orange with rust. They tried to claim they didnt' put the fenders there for about 5 seconds but I reminded them that the print ad for the truck in this month's autotrader shows it with no flares.

I'm giving the baby over to them on tuesday, let's hope they fix it well!

So you'd say the bilsteins are worth the little extra money over the Ranchos???

way to call them out. be sure to remind them that with that quality of work and honesty you wouldn't bring your truck there on your dime.
