Default 285's on old Red Truck

I put 285's on 08 OEM 20's rims.
No issues with fit and I think they look good.
Also, I pull a 6 x 12 motorcycle trailer (VTX) and when I removed my O/L springs it appeared they had never made contact with the other springs. I also removed the rear bumps and don't bottom using Monroe shocks (shorter than OEM).
Excuse me dragging in late, I'm oversea and my internet connect is poor to bad and I can only get online every few days and this group is moving pretty fast.

so you've got 285/50/20's on your rig now? those wheels look good. i was also thinking 295/45/20's... i think im gonna go with the ladder of the two

so any of you guys ever installed a roll pan on your trucks? im getting one in a week or soo and i was pondering all the install steps. im know i can do it myself without any problems, but before i crawl under the truck i was just seein if anyone had a few words to say... also im gonna sand down the chrome part of the front bumber and spray that black. after that i will officially be chrome free. (except of the lug nuts)

if you can have some help when removing the bumper, well not necessarily but the support that goes behind it. you will have to loosen at least 4 of the bolts that hold the bed to the frame. i did all six, then lift the bed up about 3" and it should slide out(once unbolted.) i did mine by myself and crawled under the bed and did push ups to get the bed up then i slid short 2x4 behind that bar. i did one side then the other then i did it again to get 3". it was kind of a pita but it is very doable by yourself, i think they were 18mm bolts and i had to have a long extension. take your time. im not sure on the steel pans but on the fiberglass ones you can use duct tape to hole them in place while you mark you holes. then take it down and predrill. put a screw in the bottom corners securing it more to the bed. get it all drilled and pre-fit before you have it painted so you dont risk scratching your fresh paint job

that just sounds like a PITA, and lot of work just to put a roll pan on. but im sure i can do it, seems like its harder to take the factory bumper off, than it is to put the roll pan on. at any rate, thanks for the tip. i should be getting the pan sometime this weekend or the beginning of next week...
