This has been reported to have happened on occassion with flip kits especially when hard launches have been done. The recommended fix is to spot weld the spring perch to the axle housing. I welded mine when I first did the drop. As for proper angle, basically line the pinion angle so that it is parallel to the the trans angle, the two lines must be parallel. What I am poorly trying to discribe is the pinion axis is parallel to the trans axis. Hope that helps. Good luck...
Anyone with the belltech drop kit, did you need a spring compressor for it? I never done one of these trucks and I don't want to go rent one if i don't have to, in cars you normally can get away with out using one since the spring is a bit smaller.
to answer ur questions...i had an exhaust shop bend 2 1/4 pipe then just cut it like that, and i was only charged $40 to cut my old pipes off, make the new ones, and weld them on. I did it for the time being til i do my custom exhaust. Hope this helps man ill go look at ur thread too
What shocks should I use on my 07 4.7 4x4 QC SLT? I am installing drop shackles soon and want to do shocks at the same time. I am tired of the back end jumping all over the place when i hit small bumps while accelerating... Everybody has said new shocks, instead of the cheap ones dodge uses should fix this... so what brands? Belltech or bilstien?
mdeniz: if your talking about replacing the front springs, i dont think you "need" them, if i remember correctly when i dropped my truck i just removed the upper control arm and pushed down on the lower and had a buddy pull the spring out. although IMO it would be alot easier with a set of compressors. you can rent them at Auto Zone and when you return them you will get your money back.
mptoad: you can really use any type of aftermarket shock to keep your rear end from hopping around. both although Belltech or Bilstien are great companies, their stuff is a little on the expencive side. but if you have the money, by all means... but on the other hand, you could look into a set on Monroe's or just see what your local auto parts store has in stock. any new shock is better than a crappy old factory shock. and since your only doing shackles.. you dont have to get a smaller shock.
welp.. i've made up my mind... again. im (still) gonna bag my truck. ive researched a bunch of different 'sites with different bag kits. some with everything and some with most of the stuff. ive decided i want to get a kit with everything included. (so that narrows things down a bit), i just need opinions as to what the "best" kit is... the options are as follows:
- FULL SIZE Truck EXTREME Air Suspension Kit With 4 Links, Panhard Bar & Frame Bridge
http://www.x2industries.com/chassist...dge-p-347.html
- 8-VALVE RidinLow Customs AIR BAG KIT WITH NOTCH & 4-LINK
http://www.ridinlowcustoms.com/8valv...ng-p-3741.html
^^^ ...same thing, different site... v v v
- :: 8-VALVE AVS AIR BAG KIT WITH NOTCH & 4-LINK
http://www.avsontheweb.com/product.p...505&bestseller
- FBSS Airride Bagged Suspension Kit 2002-2006 Dodge Ram 1500 F=BAG/BRK, PARALLEL 4LINK
http://www.airbagit.com/product-p/fbs-dod-56-kit5.htm
so out of these 4 kits... which one do you think is the best "bang for the buck"? keep in mind im also trying to stay below 2 Grand... so thats why i chose these particular kits.
