Default new trucks are a curse ...

I have spent some wheel time behind a new 09 quad cab Larriet F-150.

I was a loyal Ford guy, now Anti ford and verry Happy with my Ram, I picked up this truck for my girl friends, brothier and I don't know any one who turns down the chance to drive a new truck.

I like the 09 F-150, no chance I will ever buy a ford, but seeing a new Ford kinda lights the urge to go buy myself a new truck.

One item I do give ford credit for, is not taking any bail out money.

Time to go whash up my 06 2500, at least some of the scratchs are new !!!

You didn't even explain why only a drive would turn you off on Ford? I'm curious as to why. I've been regretting not buying another Ford.

he's not saying he wants a ford, in fact he's saying hte opposite. he's saying driving a NEW truck makes him want to go buy a NEW (non ford) truck....and that's why I did not test drive when i went kinda shopping/looking for a new truck. if i did i wouldn't have left till I got one.

I test drove a 09 King Ranch F-150 FX4 yesterday...I used to be a ford guy and thought maybe the new fords would be nice....well after comparing that with the 09 Ram I was disappointed with the Ford...

Now Ford has the right interior...super nice...cool features...but slow slow slow...slow to start, slow to stop....ride was bumpier than my dodge, and the new Fords even have the outside mounted shocks and longer leafs...I don't know man, those new Rams just have an unbelievable ride

Personally, I don't really care for the new looks of the Rams. I don't like how they overly boxed up the sides on the truck, they look like milkcart delivery trucks or something lol. But, there is one really nice around here. It has a deep electric blue paint job to it, with beautiful chrome wheels. I love how the massive dodge ram logo accents the dual exhaust out the rear bumper too.

When it comes down to these trucks, they all share different qualities. Chances are if you own a Ford, your probably somebody that wanted a truck for work. A lot of Ram owners wanted something that was going to drive similar to a car or suv, but wanted the cargo space in the rear, and that's what I think these Rams cater to. They aren't overly built, and don't really strike me as "workaholics". When I see a Ford, I think about a tough truck that can tow a lot, and get the job done, but isn't performance orientated. When I see a Ram, I think of a very refined and flashy ride, with a powerful performance motor, but not much of a tower or worker..

That 's correct...

77 F-100 302 4sp no P/S or P/B Miss that truck to this day
84 F-150 351 windsor, Could not kill it, but truck loved flue
89 F-150 302 5sp was a good truck
94 F-250 460 automatic, wrote that puppy off
97 F-150 4.2 V6 5sp, 4wd best truck I ever owned..

Now, all the above were bought used and were not pretty, The 97 had high mileage when I bought it, and I racked up a lot of mileage, needed repairs, so I traded it off..

2002 F-150 xtr quad cab 4x4 bought new... POS, could not keep ball joints or tie rods in the truck, truck never went down the road in a stright line, front end rebuilt twice under warenty...
2 v 5.4 was pretty quick, no mecanical issues, just suspension.

2004 F-150 Bought new, POS POS POS. charging + electrical issues+ rear axle seals gone at 15,000 KM, cam phaser issues+ truck battery would go dead for no appearent reason, and IT was gutluss and was really bad on flue..

So, two bad new F-150's, after years of owning used Fords that never quit on me and having a 04 F-150 that quit every odd day, I gave up on Ford...

THe 09 F-150 is a nice truck, thiers ok power and Ford's fit and finish is top notch, but two new bad trucks, and I went to dodge..

I'm not sold on the 09 Ram, but the new 010 H/D 2500 has got me inspired ...
