if your not going to drive it much like you said, I wouldnt go with the CTD... but I am guessing that if you were able to get the kid and wife in the truck more comfortably, you would take it more.
I cant say going white is a bad idea... But if you dont plan on driving it, I would stay away from the CTD.

06 2500 Ram
My stock 2500 Ram compared to 1500 Ram ( any body style ) will out cornor and out handel a 1500 Ram.
The 2500 has better tires, thier stiffer and have less flex, even the crap BFG R/T Ta are a better tire with a higher speed rating than goodyears HP on the 1500 Ram.
THe 2500 has a stiffer suspension, siffer shocks, thiers a lot less body roll in a 2500 Hemi than a 1500 hemi.
THe 2500 has a wider stance, wheals and tires wider apart than on a 1500 Ram.
Front stearing stabilzer really turns a 2500 into a handler.
AS for white it may be boaring, but it hides sctratchs, Patriot blue looks sharp, but it sctratchs quickly and atracks dust... But I love patriot blue....
Rear gearing on the 2500 axle is 342 373 or 410, Bigger ring and pion and less agressive gearing than the 392 on the 1500, get into the twistys and a 1500 Ram is gonna break lose.
The CTD has a lot of extra girth in the front, and I don't find they cornor as well as my hemi 2500, but the ctd is a bull designed to tow.
THe 1500 Ram has a better ride and with tire and shock up grades thier they can handel. Nothing wrong with a 1500, strickly owners preferance.
Nitto dural grapplers kick the crap out of BFG for ride and handeling, most impressed with my new skins.
Considering I own a 3/4 to truck, its no where close to a sports car, but I feel my truck out handles a 1500 Ram..

I am in love with my setup right now just rocking 3 inches of lift 35 inch tires
and 4.56 gears with a S/C magnaflow and airaid. This truck is quick unladen
and even pulling 8k its no slouch keep in mind this is no diesel but the reduced
operating cost is definately worth it.
Oh I forgot WHITE IS RIGHT!!!...
... When it comes to trucks that is.

Argue with him all you want, but there's really no need to bring me in to the conversation when I have been nothing but polite to you.
