Default Mud Flaps

When I bought my truck, it came with mud flaps all around. Personally they really weren't my taste, but sadly, taking them off wasn't as easy as I thought. When I pulled them back a little bit, they have left incisions into the paint where they rub. Last month I took the front ones off and had a body shop paint the little sections near the tires, however, the rears are going to require a little more area to be painted to fix the incision marks. I just think it would give my truck a sportier look without them there. I'm having the truck re-detailed tomorrow, and I'm going to have them look to see if it can be buffed out, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be down to the metal like the fronts were. And yes, I am ocd about stupid things lol.

Honestly, I would have left them on, they are there for a reason which is to keep the paint on the rocker panels.

I agree they look akward on a ram but they look better than rust

Agreed. I have a set one mine and I don't even want to think about what my truck would look like without them with all of the gravel roads around my home. Even with them on I'm still having to do a little occasional paint chip touch-up.

i dont have any, but have really thought about getting some because of what does get slung all over the truck....especially with the 35"s on there. plus my trailer would stay in alot better shape i think. could you maybe just cut the bottoms off of them? its hard to picture what you have happening on yours.

Uh, just hated the look of all four of the flaps hanging from the truck, just didn't match up with the sporty mustang look of the truck. Maybe I'll just leave the rears alone, but any of the trucks we've ever owned have never been equipped with them and they don't have any chipping areas.

I took mine off my truck. Mine had a clear auto tape so they didn't scratch my paint. I never really go offroad and haven't had any problems with scratches/chips.

Yeah, I am in the same boat as you Got_Hemi. I use my truck as a daily driver and do go off the road to work with it, but I don't go "offroading" with my trucks ever. I don't really find them of value to me because of this, and I think they take away the lines of the vehicle. Probably going to get stuck with another bodyshop bill just to remove some silly mudflaps. And btw...I don't think anybody spends money as wrecklessly as I do. I can't think of one person that would pay a bodyshop to paint where the mudflaps left marks lol. They would either not care about the flaps in the first place, not take them off, or take them off and care less about the marks.
