It calls for 5w30. Why in the world would you use 10w40?? It is too thick for today's tight tolerances.

I run counter-culture! I use Pennzoil 30wHD with Rislone Engine Treatment. From way back I have run straight weight oil with an additive and have not had oil related problems. Oil is always dirty at oil change (as it should be), no ticking or clacking of any kind and no oil usage issues. I had an old Nissan 4 cyl I used to run 50w with additive ... that was on the extreme side and the motor was being run very hard.

running 5w30 and 5w20,ure starving ur motor of oil and will soon need oil rings,but me i run castrol conv. 20w-50 lucas oil stabilizer year round
