Cool RE: no power

scubamado,

I am no expert, but I will throw out two things to look into. First, I too do all of the maintenance already suggested anytime I get a used vehicle; change fluids, filters, plugs, etc. In my mind it just eliminates a number of issues right off the bat.

My thoughts, and this is from personal experience, but kind of like "butt dyno" data it may or may not be relevant. You said that your truck has a modified exhaust. I know that too large a diameter exhaust will rob power; low-end especially. This may be something to check out. Additionally just how tall are your 20" tires? They may also be contributing.

Lastly, I will cautiously suggest this. Are you familiar with Seafoam? If so a complete run through of sea foam for your engine and possibly even your oil before you change it out, could be of value. But I encourage you to heed the advice of some of the more experienced members.

I have had my truck, an '06 1500 Hemi 4x4 for two years, and this forum, its members and their advice has been invaluable!

Good luck, these guys will get you straightened out!

As for the tires being too big, like someone said the trucks can come with 20" rims (I'm assuming you meant the rim size, or did you mean the actual tires that are on the rims?). Yours might have come with them too, unless you know for a fact that it came with 17s and someone put the 20s on there. Even so, I'm not %100 positive that something like that would make this much of a difference, but it might?

Btw bear, I've never actually really looked at your profile to see your truck, but that thing is so clean lol. I really like ur ride
No hard feeling bro! I just know for a fact that if a engine isn't properly maintained then it will loose power. It very possibly may be something more serious but I hope not. I hope a simple tune up will cure his problems. BTW thanks for the compliments on the rig. I love geting it dirty so I can clean it up again!lol Oh and I love that yellow man!
