Thanks for all the comps guys. Dirtydogg, why havent lifted your truck and put 40 inch boggers on it yet? Let me tell you why. Because you dont need it to go through 6 foot mud holes. I dont NEED 3000 watt amps and speakers. I dont NEED to blow the windows out. All I NEED is a little low end to fill up the sound. And 98cherryram is right, the amp looks small as hell, but puts out more than it seems. 300 watts I think. I dont NEED an audio engineered box. Just some thump. Besides, I usually have my 1 year old son in the backseat. I need him to keep his hearing for, as you guessed, telling him to get me a beer, what else?
The hole is just for decoration. Looked to bland so I added some decor. It sounds good to me. Which is all that matters. Oh, and the seat only went up a half inch. Its nice, I can fold the seats down now.

No need to get all ancy about some readers comments. We are all here to help. All I asked you was if those were port holes and if you had any issue's with your seats folding properly. Everyone's got wise *** remarks today???
I doubt those holes add curb appeal but that was a good effort at a port hole excuse...lol
And no your amp is not 300watts. Maybe it says it, but those are looking like 14awg speaker wire for power ground wires you've got there which will only handle around 50watts coming all the way from the front of the truck. Streo components are only as good as the weakest link. Cheap wires=crappy performance.
If you read back...I had complimented you on how clean the install was for looks and how everything matched nicely but you can pick out only the negatives if you choose to.
Didnt mean to shove at you. I was just saying no need for all that fancy stuff. The wire though is rated for 250 watts supposedly though. What gauge would you recommend for that many watts? The amp didnt come with any wires. Just some stuff I had around the house.
Gauge of wire depends on the length really. When your dealing with a car, most of the times power wire needs be be around 15ft in length or even longer. I would say 10awg for that amp is plenty and will be sufficient for anything that replaces it.
The longer you make your power wire, the bigger it needs to be because of added resistance.
Anywho, 10awg. hooking up the subs...you can prob get away with anything 14awg or bigger.

You know its funny. I was actually looking for something to match the interior of my truck which is grey. This was the best I found at Walmart,LOL. The color of the speakers just happened to match the floor mats and my sony deck. So I painted the amp and stuck the material on it to match it all up. The original yellow was gay as hell.
A capacitor is kind of a short burst reserve tank for your system, think of it kind of like a battery that charges and discharges very rapidly to fill in the gaps in your power delivery,it helps stiffen up your system a little and keeps your headlights and stuff from dimming so bad when the bass hits. I don't think you are gonna need a cap with that amp though.
