Dodge 2500 steering problem and death wobble

Dodge, chrysler, or fiat, or fly by night motors, or what ever the new name will be when fiat jumps ship has no intrest in the past, and no drive to secure the future of thier organization.
Drag links and ball joints were out, kinda what did you expect quotes a service tech at the flaky dodge dealer who qouted me over 4 grand to rebuild my front end on my 06 2500 with 121,000 highway km.
Tells you a lot when the after marker can step up to the plate and design componats that out last the oem parts on ram 2500 trucks, were all dodge can do is sit back and market and sign up Sam Shepard to sell dodges over rated crapola.
IF Ford or GM were better, and thier not, than thier would be choice, problem is the big three realy do not want to build a better product as that will screw up their parts supply chain that builds ball joints, tie rod ends, springs, ect for the big three.
Its all abought buying a lottery ticket and hopping you don't die when the front suspension on your your 2500 takes a dive.
Dodge products are built to last threw the warenty and after warenty is up, your expected to continue buying into the recycling process.
My truck is a dodge and I like it because its mine and the dodge parts go away when they fail.

Hi everyone, my truck is an '06 4x4 2500 quadcab....I've had it a couple years, however, my truck has had the death wobble a few times...the first being about a year ago and hasn't in about 4 months...it seems it only does it when the balance is upset just right. ex (when the front left hits the transition to a bridge first but its got to be just right when I've got the wheel turned a bit and hit the bump)..also it seems to be more prone with my 4 wheeler in the back thus raising the front up a bit... I took it to a front end specialist and he couldn't find anything....My truck has about 150k on it and had it's first episode at around 120k..

Its not just dodge, Ford and Gm are just as bad with othier issues, Fords self coumbust ( cruse control switch hot wired into the brake booster, even the 2010 and up catch on fire) where as dodges rip them selfs apart...
Advertisng and truck owners who have 0 issues will allways be the minority, yet this is were the majority rules..

2007 Dodge 2500 Diesel
I have bee experiencing steering wobble for four years now and have found a solution. Dodge service has not helped after having it looked at on three occasions while in for service. This happens mostly while trailering. I have seen some retrofit equipment to help rectify this problem. Has anyone had success with adding the steering bar which strengthens the steering box from Hell Bent steel? By the way I only have 32,000 miles on the truck so I really want to fix the problem even if I can't get Dodge Service to help solve it. I did not in this mourning's local paper an article about a recall from Dodge but the dealers don't acknowledge it!

Steering box bracing did not help but new tires and stabilizer did

I finally did install 4 new Michelin tires and new steering shock. Viole', good now for several years. If the death wobble problem re-occurs I will replace the steering shock again since it has a lifetime warranty.

I have a 2016 Ram 2500 Tradesman crew cab 4WD diesel with 94,000 miles. I have never experienced the "Death Wobble" but some engineering brain trust came up with an "upgrade" to the adjustment connecting link on the drag link which led to a recall. Apparently, since the original design has worked fine for 50-60 years some millennial decided to switch from the old split sleeve design to a hex connecting link with a jamb nut on each end. The only problem is that apparently the jamb nuts come loose. Do they recall and put a bottle of LoctiteŽ 271 on the threads? Or put nylon lock nuts on both sides? NO!!! They recall and WELD THE JAMB NUTS TO THE CONNECTING LINK!!!!!!!! When I called the corporation "customer service" (That term is a total misnomer!) they replied, "That's all we have for a fix right now." So when I need an alignment now I am supposed to grind the welds off, set the alignment, and re-weld the nuts. I guess in someone executive's feeble mind that is better than going back to what has worked for 50-60 years. Has anyone else had similar dealings with this issue?
