A tune up would help gain 5-6 miles a gallon?

Do you have the information console above the Rearview Mirror? It has a setting for monitoring your fuel economy. I agree your mileage is low; air pressure in your tires, plugs, wires, air cleaner, fuel filter, and exhaust issues all can impact the bottom line. Usually if it is a emission-related issue (MAP sensor ect) you will get a check engine light. Try all the easy fixes and see if in improves. It ain't never going to get 20 MPG in stop & go traffic as it is asking a lot of that V-6 to push that much weight around. My son has a '06 4.7L Quad that gets about 16 in town. My '08 Avalanche with it's 5.3L gets 18-19 in town, but I (admittedly) drive like an old,old man. Good luck

It's possible, but I blame a lot of it on your tires being too big. You may need to consider re-gearing. Does the v6 tow package come w/ 3.92's or what?

Yes, the gear ratio is 3.9. The tires came with the truck when I bought it. What does the price of regearing run?

Regearing is about 1200$ from what I've heard and that includes the new gears and install. The sad thing about the v6 is it gets mileage very similar to the 4.7 and hemi in most conditions. I've got an 04 v6 and the best mileage I got before modding was 16.6 mpg w/ 60 city/40 highway.

I would love to get atlest 16mpg! I might need to get a quick tune up. I've only had the truck for two months and the best I've gotten is 12! ugh. What a headache

Yea a tune up is a good place to start. Do you have any maintenance records for it and how many miles are on it?
