Need a little help on how to remove the stock radio from my 08Ram1500. Have read a lot of posting but seem to be differences of opinon. Anybody done this and have the real answers?

Start at the bottom of the bezel and pull outward. That front over plate is only held on by those snap clips. They pop right out although there are kinda tough. Once you get that radio bezel cover off, the cig lighter and acessories on the bottom portion are going to need to be unhooked from the back. Then the radio itself is only held on by 4 screws i believe.

The bezel on mine was held in by one screw behind the little trash bag holder thing. Other than that, snap clips.

 

We have a newer style bezel 06-08. Only clips. No screws.

 

Lucky you guys. That'll save you about 20 seconds. Haha.

 

My '06 had 2 screws on the bottom of the bezel, facing upwards that had to be removed before you could unclip the rest of the bezel. It was a pita to get to them, I had to remove the center console to get to them. Here is a diagram.
