Congrats on the new truck .I know what your going thru.I went from an explorer to my truck and i thought the same thing. You've gotta figure that its alot bigger truck,so it gonna actually ride like a truck especially with those 20's on there.the pne thing that helped mine was i changed the tires.I put the same size tire on.But, the goodyear tires are the same ones that the truck came with from the factory. And everyone i asked said that they were one of the worst tires for ride/wear/durability.the other thing i did that helped was i put new shock on the front.that helped alot.

I don't wanna have to pay for any of it.. only had it a week and 2 days... guess that's what I get for not buying an extended warranty..?!!!

Go back and buy an extended warranty. they'll sell it to you!....lol

Is this a 2wd or 4wd?

The good years suck!!! I had noticed my truck was pretty rough when I got it to, I figured it was just that I went to a heavier truck. I didn't like the 20's that I got with my truck, So I traded them for some stock 17's and mad a $150 in the process. Then I wrapped them in some nitto terra's. Now my truck rides really smooth, And I haven't even gotten to the shocks yet.

We need to know if its 4x4 or 2wd? Also, those goodyears seem to be the worst possible match for our trucks, and pretty much everyone here will tell you that. As for the problem your having.. Are there other symptoms? Does the steering wheel vibrate, do the pedals vibrate, Does the truck pull to one side or the other? Is it just a bouncy ride? If so, it could be the realization that you bought a TRUCK with 20"s. An explorer will handle much better. My wifes Commander feels like a luxury car when compared....

That said, I had a 1990, 2001 and now a 2006 Ram so i think it rides like a beauty, even more so with my cooper zeon's...

There are some very common problems that owners have tho. A vibration from the rear end, shaking & bouncing from bad tie rods, and just kinda crappy stock shocks...

If the truck feels like its falling apart, or your inside a blender then that is definitly not normal. If it seems like is it just a bumpy ride and the back end kinda bounces to the sides when you hit bumps, that is pretty normal.

I just bought a 2006 1500 5.7 32000 miles and the front struts were leaking (I picked up on them leaking when I first looked at the truck) I had the same uneasy ride and replasced them with Monroe/Gabriel units and the ride is 150% better! Look for oil leaking at the top of the strut housings!

When I bought new tires and rims they said they balanced them but boy did they lie. When I took it back to them I watched them do it and they were WAY off. Then the guy who was doing it put a ton of weights on there and I asked the manager to get someone else to do it because I didnt want one weight trying to counteract the other just to balance. Thats not how its supposed to be done. In the end, it rode smooth.

Is it possible the truck is leveled with over extended shocks?

A lot of things can cause a rough or bouncy ride. Out of balance tires, bad alignment, bad ball joints, bad tie rod ends, out of balance drive shaft.

If the truck has been leveled, I'd start there. Seems a LOT of people with leveled coil over rams report problems from a slight vibration all the way to the dreaded "Death Wobble"...
