For headers? I have been looking at the pacesetter LT's with matching Y pipe ceramic coated. So far the cheapest for this combo I have been able to find are these two places

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...73193&viewitem

or

http://moesperformance.com/index.php...oducts_id=1167

Or would it be cheaper to buy the uncoated one and have someone else do the ceramic coating?

I would get coated inside out. I called Jethot for a quote to coat my JBA shorties and they gave me a price of $295...pffft yeah right. That's more than I paid for the freakin things. that didn't even cover shipping to and fro.

As far as I know, most places carry them already done. That's what I would buy. it's cheaper because they get volume discount from JetHot and it's much faster and hassle free. If Moe's is very close in price...I would buy there over ebay. i'm buying my Rancho's from there if I ever get around to it??? Moe's has some of the best prices around not to mention the fact I'm sure he wants to keep his rep. being a sponsor and all.

If I were to get a different Y pipe, could that save some $$$ in the end? Im keeping the cats so I dont think that I would necessarily need to get the matching Y from pacesetter.

call them and tell them you found it cheaper. he might price match.

Everything I have heard from anybody says to get coating in and out, especially if you're getting some expensive ones that are going to be a significant investment.

I personally would get only the pacesetter Y-pipe as all LT's have different collector lengths to them. I went through that sorta thing with my mustang. Also, i didn't look, but a few places carry a coated inside/out Pacesetter Y-pipe as well. That would be worth getting IMO just because it would save you on rust as well as some floorboard heat while idling. Unless of course you can find a stainless y-pipe that will match?????

One last thing.... I doubt that Ebay sellers are getting their Headers coated Inside and out by Jethot. I think Pacesetter coats only the outside unlike Moe's who is inside and out. Just something to chew on.

No the ebay ones are coated on the outside only. The only thing about the ebay ones were that they are local (actually just a few min form my office).

Looking at the 2. Both Free shipping regardless of local pick-up(probably)

#1 Ebay set coated outside only..... $632
#2 Moe's Coated inside & Out.........$659

No brainer. Go with Moe's and just wait for them to come in the mail. Lots of moisture running on the inside of the headers. Also, coated inside will further reduce underhood temps.

I wouldn't even consider having someone else coat them. It may infact void the warrant???

Have you thought about Kooks? Our SOVA president went with Pacesetter headers on his 5.7L and lost torque on the dyno. He said most people stray away from Kooks because of cost. I know you have to specify 2.5" vs 3" collector but he got some pretty good gains from his Kooks.
