Default Should i get different CAI???

Right now i have a drop in k and n filter in the stock box and i replaced the "Hemi Hat" with 3" pvc pipe from the box to throttle body...i also cut the sides out of the bottom of the box for more air flow...the 3" pipe has a few bends in it to line up to the throttle body and it seems to run good...makes a hell of allot of noise and is never hot after a drive... my question is would getting a 4" filter and running 4" pipe in a straiter line to the throttle body with a open cone filter equal greater results and maybe less noise??? or should i spend the time on replacing my y pipe in the exhaust???

Your money is better spent on your exhaust at this point.

x2 with exhaust... you can only do so much with ur intake, and what you have is a good setup, i might go back to having my drop in and filter box to keep it from getting so dirty and wet if i hit deep puddles...

Would have to see the bends. Did you use any 90 degree elbows? I think that that would have some effect on flow using a 3" pipe. If you are that worried, you can get just the tube and have that replaced. The filter job that you have done, seems pretty good. You are already getting more air into the box, now you just have to make sure you are getting that air to the engine.

As far as the noise goes, there will be no difference if you change to an actual CAI or not. IMHO, I would look into the exhaust now. You are getting the air in, now you have to get the air out.

Once you get some pics posted of your homemade intake, we can critique it then.
