I just recently purchased a "new-to-me" stock 2007 5.7L QC 4x4 Big Horn edition. It's white with chrome bumpers, grille, and door handles. If I painted the bumpers white will it still look good, for now, with the other stuff still being chrome. I plan on changing them in the long run but I figured it'd be a starting point. Plus, I'm going to put on a new exhaust (Magnaflow?), a programmer (SuperChips), CAI (?), and maybe some bigger wheels.

It's my first 4x4/full-size truck so it's a little different than my old S-10 Xtreme. I've never done any type of performance mods so any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I need to clean it and then get some pics up. It doesn't look nearly as nice as some of the trucks I've seen on here, but with some time I think it'll turn out very well. Thanks.

 

Congrats on the purchase. I don't know on the painting so I'll let someone else answer that. From what I read, most people on here prefer the Flowmaster mufflers to magnaflow and the programmer depends on what you are planning to do. I have a DiabloSport Predator on my stock pickup and really like it.

I don't plan on doing many, if any, mods under the hood. CAI is about it. I plan to stay close to stock. Other than that it's just gonna be a few things here and there. Mostly cosmetic. Which programmer would be better for me just knowing that?

 

Most people do NOT prefer the flowmasters. They may sound good, but the have terrible flow and you will lose power.

 

Get these and i think your wants will be filled

Exhaust: Magnaflow
CAI: Just get a K&N
Tuner: Superchip 3865
