Modding is on hold for a while....
I was talking to the guy while he was doing the repair and he was saying that May through August are their money making months, they primarily do buisnesses and office complexes though not residential. I called up a few other places after he gave me the estimate for the repairs to check prices on the things that were bad and they were the lowest ones, the gap between their prices and the next lowest persons price was almost a grand. One company wanted close to 4 grand for the repair costs so even though it was hell of expensive it was still "cheap" when compared to the other companies.
Im not leaving AZ though, all my familly is here and I will put up with the inferno that we call a summer to be able to have the winter and spring we get here. No snow, no ice, no salt on the roads, no rust... just beautiful 60 - 70 degree weather.

Join the club, Truckin ol' buddy. Went on a leave of absence to take care of the folks when they were gravely ill, had all the time for moddin in the driveway and made the most of it, but got replaced at work, now that I can work, ain't much out there in this economy. Got a plan to finish the truck off, but not the bread... Frustrating as hell...
I'll need another $2100 to finish up the performance mods on the truck and have it tuned. After that Im done till I make it up then I'll start with the visual mods. Just by going through pay checks and what I'm putting into savings, it'll be November by the time I can start buying things again.
Well I held off on moding because im in the process of buying a new street bike. So that will cost me some. So i have to save up for that since im turning 18 and i dont have a ton of money. we have our A/C on up here in CT. i cant live without it.
Could have replaced the whole outside unit for that. Well, I do my own a/c work too, and these a/c guys charge outrageous labor prices.
I see ads for things like $1200 rebate. So they must be charging a fortune in labor because I installed a new 3 ton condenser, 100,000 btu Gas furnace with a 4 ton blower, a-coil and larger line set. Cost me about $2300 in parts (Ameristar which is Trane).
I should have went to school for it when I was young and I would be a very rich man by now. I am EPA certified, though.
Back on topic, at least you did have the cashola to get it fixed. A/C is more important than headers anytime. (Unless you live in Alaska
)
At least it will be cooler to work on it later in the year when the funds will be available again!!

Yeah to replace the unit out right would cost around $6300. My parents unit ran close to $5600 to completely replace theirs and they have a smaller unit than we do. Ours oversized really and its rated for 3500sqft, the one my parents had replaced last year was rated for 2300sqft. Its nuts!! Needless to say we are getting a new home warranty today (an extra $38 a month) and it will cover everything including a full replacemen of the ac. Its like a $60 out of pocket deductable too.
