You don't need a kit. Get a roll of mat, a can of resin, a tube of hardener and start playing. Try to make a square box. You'll be surprised how difficult it is at first, but you can quickly become proficient. And it's ok to skim a little bondo when you're done.

I fiberglassed my whole enclosure if you want to check out my gallery. Basically the mat is a bunch of strands of fiberglass that is all bunched up, its used to make big things like a whole enclosure since after adding layers it builds up quickly and gets think. The mesh is more of a thin sheet of fiberglass like what they use on surfboards and for presice things. For the dash I would use the mesh sheet. The mat is harder to form to sharp edges. What you need is your fiberglass mat or mesh, a gallon of resin. catalyst (you only need a lil). Also dont forget the GREEN painters tape. This car wax-forgot the name, ACETONE, and a few cheap paintbrushes along with small buckets and stir sticks. You have to apply the painters tap to the surface you are fiberglassing being sure to start from the bottom up (the resin will easily flow through the creases between the tape) Then apply the wax on top of the tape. This makes it easy to pop out the mold when everything dries. Mix your resin and work fast. You fiberglass on top of the wax.
