If you manually press the brake switch does it fix the problem? I had the same problem on my dodge Intrepid and just applied some grease to the switch so it doesn't stick and also bent the plate back at which it contacts with. Not sure if the switch is your problem.

Default Thanks

Thanks to all of you for this thread. In the past I would have just taken the truck to the dealer but not in these times. Electrical problems are always the toughest especially when parts are not returnable.
I was driving home the other night and also lost tail and clearance lights. Tomorrow I will take out the fuse box and clean it and see if that works.

I doubt that will work. Just speaking from experience. I disconnected all the harnesses and blowed out with compressed air, and still no luck. From my understanding, there is corrosion deep within the fuse box.

Just an update. I cleaned out the fuse box connections and the FCM a few months ago. The headlight went out on me again. I currently have it at the stealership and they are racking me over the coals right now. Already spent $200 and they haven't told me anything I don't already know and posted on this forum. I will update once my wallet is fully drained by the mechanic.

The dealership got almost $900 to replace the fuse box. They told me I had to replace both the Fuse Box and FCM. I said to only replace the fuse box and we will see if the FCM is really bad. It wasn't bad or else it would have been $1200.

Question everything they want to do. Troubleshooting electrical can be a huge money pit. If they can't prove it (like actually test for it) you are on the hook for paying for all their guessing.

Default Front Control Moduel

I am having trouble with my right low beam,,I wanted to no if the FCM and ICM are the same thing. Some said the FCM is hook to the bottom of the fuse block,I also see there is a sivler box hook to the right side of the fuse block, what is this.

The silver box on the side of the fuse box otherwise known as the power distribution box ......PDC.....is the FCM.

Hey Jay and abarmby, I was having problems with my trailer light hook-ups. Turns out it was the PCB (printed circuit board) in the fuse box. My best guess would be **** poor and cheap corrosion resistant materials on the PCB.

Yep.....it wouldn't surpeise me at all.
The design is very poor!
Water splashes up from the front wheel well and constantly soaks, the bottom of the fuse box.
I have a mod in place. It's a plastic water shield underneath the fuse box. It deflects any water away from the bottom.
I hope this helps in the future?
Al.
