Front Control Module (FCM)
I have a 2004 Ram 2500 Hemi which a mechanic declared the FCM as being the culprite for my trailer lights not working. The fuses are good but no power to the lights.
I tried to order an FCM but they are on National Backorder. Does anybody have a line on one? Is this the correct part number 68005476AA? Thanks!

Carlos......I did this replacement to my 03 1500 about 3 years ago now.
It's all of a 20-30 minute task.
Most of which is taken up by checking to make sure the fuses and relays are the same and in the right places.
Disconnect your trucks battery firstly.
Then from what I remember, theres a large electrical connection down by the left side of the PDC as you look down on it to remove. Then there's I believe. one mounting bolt to remove?
The trick to removing the whole PDC is once you have removed the securing bolt, to slide the PDC to either the back of the truck or the front. Can't remember which, as two tabs on the PDC locate into two mounting slots. Look at your new PDC to familiarise yourself and see which way you will need to push/pull the installed PDC to remove it.
The installed PDC does not just pull off. You have to slide it then pull it off. If you try to pull it away without sliding it, you will damage the mount.
As for reprograming the "brain" part of our trucks computer......no....you definately don't have to do any of that.
Don't forget to install your original FCM onto your new PDC which is very easy to do. A few small screws securing it to the PDC with a large connector to just pull then push into.
You can't go wrong with the connectors underneath the PDC and swapping them, as they're all colour coded to the PDC.
Make sure your new PDC comes with the upgraded extra splash guard which fits like an ice creame cone underneath your new PDC, deflecting any water etc from being sprayed up into it. Dodges "fix" for the corrosion problem I gues lol.
When I replaced my PDC, it cured 100% all of my lighting problems.........the running lights not coming on.
Hope all this helps?

No probs and the best of luck with your install. Just take your time and use stuff like camera phones to take pics before you remove or dissasemble stuff. I always do, so I can get back to square 1 if I need to lol.
