Default Got my hood!!!

For those of you who dont know, I found this hood on craigslist for $100. I went and picked it up today.
The scoop is silver and since i have no silver on my truck, im gunna paint the silver flat black. the rest of the hood is in pretty good shape, and i think a good buffing will bring it back to almost new condition.
question is, when i paint the flat black, do i put clear coat over it? I dont want it too shiney, but i want a smooth, protected surface. and im gunna do it with a spray can... think it will turn out ok?

does anyone know what kind of hood this is?

yeah you wanna tape off the black parts you wanna keep and rough up the silver b4 you shoot the flat black, and you have to put clear over it or every time you wash it the black will rub off, i dont think it would be shiny but try it on somethin els if your curious, and x6 on the damn nice hood for $100

thats a sweet deal! you can buy matt clear. its hard to find at most places, and I dunno how a spray bomb clear would look. but its worth a shot on a 100 dollar hood lol
