You can get both for under $500. I wouldnt get a full CAI kit -- they cost too much and you'll never make the money back in savings. There are a couple DIY's in the 3rd Gen FAQ that will give you the same gains for less than 1/3 of the cost using some PVC pipe and a drop-in K&N filter.

If I were to choose between the two though, I'd go with the cover for a couple reasons. Not only will you get a little better mileage (up to 10% better), but it adds security as well. The stuff in your bed will thank you -- out of sight out of mind. The third reason is, although the CAI will free up a couple horsepower and get about the same mpg gains, your hood is usually closed and its not a "visible" mod. The cover will look good as well as be functional.

For WELL under $100 though, you may as well do the DIY CAI at the same time as the cover.

Bed cover, intake will do nothing but give you a louder moan under acceleration. No real world HP gains.
