Default 07 Ram w/Hemi

I'm looking at a 2007 Dodge Ram Quad Cab with the Hemi that i was thinking about buying. Has about 72,000 miles on it. The truck is very clean. Being that i'm new to the Mopar world (Ford guy), is there anything i did to know before i purchase? Needed a four door truck because i have two children and reguarly tow around 5500lbs. (car &trailer) Also is there any cheap after market chips or programmers that will help out with the torque?

Thanks
Corey

Nothing to be concerned about with that kinda mieage but if you are buying from a dealer, make sure they have done a complete tune-up including plugs and fluid flushed. Tune-ups are due every 30kmi as well as all diff fluids and transfercase fluids.
Tranny fluid should look brand new because that's due every 60kmi. Don't get burned if none of these are done because all the fluid in the newer trucks require Full Synthetic and are very expensive. Tranny is full synthetic as well(ATF+4)
w/74kmi on a 2007, price should be about $3k below others that have only 30kmi.
2007 SLT QC 4x4 w 74kmi should go for $15-16k if it's 2wd $13-14k MAX

well the programmer alone isnt going to spew tourq like a diesel but if you get the superchips it has a tranny tune feature that really sharpens up the shifts, instead of the long laging shifts, and see if its got factory limited slip, those dont do so well and tend to go out, and if you still worried about tourq you can allways get some doug thourley long tubes and welcome to Dodge forums!

They went down from 17,200 to 15,200. It's a 2x4 with the Laramie package.

Seems like a lot of $ for a 2wd with over 70,000 in two years.

Next year same time, my truck would be worth $17k if it had 30kmi and it's a 4x4! Take $2k off for 2wd. That's what they want but with 45kmi more! At .15cents per mile, that's a $7k deduction in my books. ofcourse it only goes one way, when you trade-in, but when they sell them with that many miles they expect top dollar. I still stand behind my $13-14k max figure.

I am right there with you on price, I would say that sounds like a $13k truck.
