Will a dealer trade me hoods??
Ok so i still haven't been able to talk to the guy who actually makes the decision but the 2 sales men i talked to sucked. So when i went back the 2nd time, i told the sales man my proposal. He tried to feed me some bull **** saying the paint won't match..... yea, that's what he said lol
I looked at him and said "are you kidding me, Let's think about this for a second. My hood is a 2006, the truck the srt hood is on is a 2006. This means my hood and your truck had to be painted relatively close to the same time, by the factory. The srt hood isn't stock, which means it had to be painted by a 2nd hand shop. If anything my hood would be a closer match on that truck than the srt. Therefore I'm the one whose getting a hood that's a little off. So how are you going to tell me the paint won't match?" He kinda sat there and looked at me. You could see in his eyes that he realized what a dumb *** he was. So i told him i'll be back to talk to the person the owner actually trusts to make educated decisions.
LMAO....

I worked as a car porter for 3 months at a dealership....and will agree, but the percentage needs to be a bit higher...lol. I couldnt stand their huge ego and the owners (money hungry sobs) werent much better. Back in the factory and actually getting some real money. Sry, just need to add in a little too.
But good luck with the deal, I dont see it happening unless u r payin a lot money.

You want an example? The fact that you brought my family into it proves that you are one of the 99%.
I don't care if one of your snake oil salesboys developed a cure for baldness, he would still have some douchebaggery in him.
The amount of energy you are expending trying to distort reality is charming, but I submit to you that your cause is a lost one. No amount of dubious claims of saleslosers making more than doctors will change the reality that 99% of them are losers. I am sure your top earner (aka Numero Uno Ace Douchebag) made more than some immigrant doctor from islamabad working at the quicky clinic, but that is the exception and not the norm. No amount of equivocating on your part will change reality. For you to achieve inner peace and find true happiness, you must accept that you have douchebaggery running deep throughout your employment history.
My condolences, but we all have our crosses to bear.

LMFAO..ROFL...Rubber, you are too much sometimes
Well back to the hood thing.......it would make more sense just to buy one and do it yourself for the money you are willing to offer. Get you a used one and then you can sell your factory hood for at least some money...
You want an example? The fact that you brought my family into it proves that you are one of the 99%.
I am a Douche because I wanted to know if you had personal experiences or if your predetermined judgements were being based off of the salesman of old days that were able to get away with ripping people off? As in passed down from your mom and dad? Funny I did not take an attack...
I don't care if one of your snake oil salesboys developed a cure for baldness, he would still have some douchebaggery in him.
Every Company in the world has salesman... With out them you would have no job... and very few industries have salesman regulated by the government
The amount of energy you are expending trying to distort reality is charming, but I submit to you that your cause is a lost one.
I am not distorting reality... In fact I invite you to bring me one piece of reality(truth) that you have personally had an experience that was criminal in nature... Conducted by a dealership
No amount of dubious claims of saleslosers making more than doctors will change the reality that 99% of them are losers.
Again this is a stereiotypical image that you want others to believe... but you have not produced any evidence
I am sure your top earner (aka Numero Uno Ace Douchebag) made more than some immigrant doctor from islamabad working at the quicky clinic, but that is the exception and not the norm.
In any industry 70% of the money is made by the top 30% and you are right... I was the exception to the rule not the norm

No... That is where you are wrong. There is nothing that the Car salesman of today has to be ashamed of... In fact if people decided to drop there prejudice views and judge people based on who they are and how they treat you... you would find out that only 1% actually I would even go higher since some states may not regulate the salesman I would give you 10% may still be problems
My condolences, but we all have our crosses to bear.
I believe that the photos you provided go to prove my point that your views are being based off of Stereotypical views portrayed in what 60's and 70s... What will you do when the Gov decides the real way to regulate the car industry and make it profitable is to just have us pay sticker?

Then I would want to compensate the dealership for loosing the point vehicle.... I would be thinking about $700 to $850... How would this compare if I got you the identical hood from our parts department? any one that has purchased a hood have any idea?
For a few reasons, the hood is not new and who knows how long it has been on that truck and what damage has been done to it and bondo'd over. Good looking on the outside does not mean that is it good under the piant. Also I have seen a stock hood on craigslist and on ebay go anywhere from $200 - $350, You can get a color matched SRT10 hood on either craigslist or ebay for around $400-$450. From the parts department new its around $800, and around another $800+ for paint (the quote I got just for paint to color match a hood to my truck at my local dealer was $1200).
I would not give a dealer any more than $450 + the trade for the hood, there is no reason to go any higher than that since you are basically giving them between $600 - $800 for it after you take in consideration for the price of the stock hood plus the extra cash on top of that. Anything higher than $450 and you can find one that someone is selling online.
That was what I was thinking the cost would be... I called a friend just to verify the numbers I had and He said that at his dealership it would cost him between 6-7 to switch the hood... The dealerships here and in a lot of areas are set up as different companies 1sales 2 service 3 body shop in case they are ever sued...and he has to pay normal price for work to be done... but he said same color would be about 300 if you removed and installed your own hood.. but he still would not do it if it was a nice hood

This is a perfect example 1 dealership- 3 months... and knows enough to say that number needs to be higher... I did not even learn an employees name till they were ther for 90 days because most of the time they did not last. Salesman do have large egos... most consider themselves their own companies... I know I did. I paid myself on commission and a Porter can screw a salesman quick with a bad detail or driving on the lot fast. So I would think you first 3 months were pretty rough
