No, chips are in keys that have the rubber/plastic ends, the part you hold to start your truck.

lol yeah.

no chip here. at least spares are cheap.

How much you wanna bet that the second factory key with the chip is taped inside the steering wheel cover beside the ignition. I've seen allot of guys do it for Remote start systems so the truck will stay running without the key in the ignition. The ignition senses the chip because it's there but you can use any key.

I also have a solid metal key no chip and you are correct key lock only on one door is a Pain in the ***. I have been thinking about getting an aftermarket keyless entry/remote start system.
