Well a street truck, some not alot of off road, a little towing, and the track sometime, never taken it there yet, but would like to. I bought it new in 04. I used to be on the dodge truck forums, but it has been gone for a while.

A good head cam combo, I do want to stay with 5.7 heads. Dont want to mess with the 6.1. I was thinking in the future putting a super Charger on it, but dont know. Might just do the head and cam, call it good. Plan on getting a 2500 Cummins in a few years, and passing this one down to my oldest son to drive.

well looking about, i dont see alot of improvement with heads and cam. About 50HP total. Thinking about going Super Charger instead. Cost about the same after it is all said and done.

Heads + Cam= $3k plus labor 70-95+rwhp to be had not just 50
Supercharger= $5k plus labor 80-125(+)rwhp to be had (+) to the built blocks that can handle it

Stage 2 heads are 30hp over stock. Stage 2 cam is worth 40over stock=70whp
Stage 3 Cams are good for 60hp over stock and stage 3 heads are good for 35hp=95whp
These are just estimates but are still obtainable by heads/cams as well as additional tuning/cooling mods obviously same as a supercharger.
Also, heads are free power where as a supercharger eats power to make power. A turbo is a better power maker for same money.

Let me add Dynamic Racing to the list of shops that offer ported heads & cams. They're a very respected 3000GT/Stealth shop that just happens to do a nice Hemi business as well.

Those are impressive gains.
What do they do for low end torque for towing? Usually more airflow,N/A, means the powerband moves upstairs. Just curious. I haven't seen any dyno charts and am too lazy to search for any

Like to see where I can get heads and a cam for 3k, the heads themselves are 4k.
Not looking to build the block, just bolt on's. With the SC keeping on low boost, should be fine. Not looking for a turbo for my truck. Dont like where they sit, and on a 4x4, not for me. Plus a turbo on a gas truck isnt good for towing. I have 2 SRT-4's both built. One with twin turbos. Yes Twin turbos.
Later I will get a cummins, but for now just wanting more out of what I have.
Thanks.

Heads for $4k? Maybe in crackland... You can get heads starting at $1400.

There's no need to reinvent the wheel here. If you want to tow at all, turbo AND blower are OUT. They both suck for towing.

If you can do the work yourself, you can do a cam and heads for around $2k.

Check here for heads- http://www.inertiamotorsports.com/cylinderheads.html

1400 is for one head right?? Everywhere I seen that is the price for one. I dont do alot of towing, but I have a car trailer that I will pull a car around every now and then. I can do most of the work myself. What I cant do I have a Mech that can help me out.

I really dont know what direction I want to go, I have been talking about it for a few years now. Just have to get my other SRT done first.

That is the price for a pair. You should give them a call just to talk about your plans and see what advice they have. I can tell you right now that no one is going to recommend blowers and turbos for towing.
