De-Badging help!!!
Hey guys, I followed what everyone else said and got the eraser wheel/pin stripe remover and got the first badge (Hemi) off and clean, and you can see there is a haze in the paint....I followed instructions on not going over 1500 rpms...I tried waxing it, using bug and tar remover and still nothing. I am scared to take any more off...Any ideas???? It's a 2006 black Ram...
Thanks in advance-

It's not just about not going over 1500rpm but also make sure you constantly moved the wheel and didn't stay in one spot for a extended period of time as to not dig into the clearcoat which is pretty tough. It took me a long time to strip my gunk off with my astro wheel. I had plooms of friggen smoke coming off my truck. After i did goo gone, there was still some ghosting effect and still to this day (about 4 weeks ago) in the right light there is but only i can tell cause i know where, when and how the badges were taken off.... Can you possibly post a pic of your "haze" in the paint to get a better understanding of what your talking about???
Actually, i used WD40... It works alot better

Good video. I've already ordered the eraser wheel and am looking forward to doing this. Haven't decided if I'm gonna take the Hemi off or not though.
The truck in question was a black 2006. Does the haze look like more of a difference between fadded and not fadded paint?

Sorry guys! I did not mean to post a question and not get back to you. I went and bought a buffer and it's taking that "haze/"ghost" look out with a little rubbing compound. I will post pictures once I get all this crap off! On to the chrome tail light covers next...
Thanks for all the input and videos!

I just debaged today. I used a heat gun to loosen the 3m tape then you can either just peel the badge off or you can use fishing line to "saw" it off. One i got them off i rubbed the thick 3m tape off with my finger then used 3m tape remover to get the rest off. That 3m remover takes like 5 applications before it all comes off. After that i washed the area then dried it and finally i waxed the area to bring back the shine. Worked mint. I will say that it takes like 15 minutes per couple letters to get all the 3m off. Well worth the time though
