What are your plans for tuning and what are looking to get out of your cam? The link you posted is not what you should be looking at. Give us some info about what your plans are and we can point you to the right cam.

Well you are in the same boat for tuning as I am since we both have 04 5.7's. If you want to run a big cam you are going to need a custom tune of some sort. You can get a custom tune with a DSP or a SCT tuner. Problem with them is that they don't have any trans control for our trucks. You could do a SC with a PSC1 piggyback or an SC/SCT stack. Then you would have the trans control of the SC with the engine tuning of the PSC1 or the SCT.

If you are looking for some performance parts for your hemi check this site out. I was looking at the cams here on this link, the hemi street cam is the way i am going to go.

What made you decide to go with the hemi street cam? There are no specs on there describing the grind. It doesn't mention any need for changing out the springs or rods which must mean it is a pretty mild cam.

Now I can see why it doesn't say anything about the spring swap. That is a very mild cam and quite expensive at over $600.

Honestly, I would be leary of putting in any cam and not replacing the springs. These stockers are pretty weak and the last thing you need is to break a spring and have catastrophic failure because of it. For $60 you can get a set of 6.1 exhaust springs and not have to worry about breakage. But to answer your question, it is usually when the lift goes over .500 that new springs are required.
